The above listed item is from the Third Intermediate Period(1075-715 B.C.E.). This lovely "Striding Anubis" was made from stone composite. We acquired this charming piece from a select private collection and its provenance is from Alexandria, Egypt. He is depicted in a Nemes headdress, arms to his side and kilt. There are faintly visible hieroglyphics at the front of the base. These type of Anubis figurines were usually found in tombs. He has one ear missing with the other one chipped, otherwise this piece is intact with age wear. The reason for the item being available is due to the vast extent of old archeological findings, thousands of years in Egyptian burials and also the proliferation of these said items in private collections worldwide
