Length : 50 cm. Width : 12 cm. Hight : 15 cm. Material : Stone. Condition : as in images above. Rare Wood and Gold Gild Funeral Barge" Boat". Other Names: " Funerary Vessel". Material: Wood and GOLD. Dimesions: Height:25cm Width:58cm Depth:10.5cm. (1 inch = 2.5 cm ). Conditions: Good. Estimated Value: $23,000-$25,000. The above listed item is from the Ptolemaic Period,(332-30 B.C.E.). This rare and incredible "Funeral Barge" is carved from cedar, acacia or sycamore wood, covered with Gold. We acquired this unusual item from a select private collection and its provenance is from Alexandria, Egypt. The bow and seated two ancient oarsmen,one in the front and one at the back! , there are Two winged ISIS God on both sides of the Barge, They are covered with an intact canopy which may be symbolic for the sarcophagus.! This type of funerary boat was placed in the tomb as a blessed offering for the deceased. This relic is intact, has areas of ancient encrustation and age wear. The reason for the item being available is due to the vast extent of archeological findings, thousands of years in Egyptian burials and also the proliferation of these said items in older private collections worldwide.
