Thank you for viewing my auction. I have been collecting for almost 50 years and purchased all my items from the most reputable sources but mostly at auction in London. This is a scarab of the Greek/Roman period, about 200 BC. It is a rudimentary representation of the scarabus beetle and has no inscription on the underside. It surely was made for inclusion in the mummy wrap because it would not pass on the street. It probably was removed in the great mummy unwrappings of the Victorian Period. Length is 1/2". Condition is as shown.
